Legia was founded in 1916 by the soldiers of Józef Piłsudski’s Polish Legions fighting in the World War I. Our Club is an 12-time* Polish Champion and 18-time winner of the Polish Cup.

In the peak Legia consisted of 26 different sports, the athletes of which won 86 Olympic Games medals altogether, 15 gold medals included.

Besides, our sportsmen and sportswomen have altogether held the World Champion title for 89 times, the European Champion title for 91 times and the Polish Champion title for… 2166 times!

However, our most popular and emotive sport has always been football. Legia Football Club has been based at 3 Łazienkowska street almost since its foundation.
