Anderlecht won Legia Cup 2017
Legia Cup is one of the most prestigious international tournaments organized in Poland. Every autumn, from thirteen years, the largest European football academies come to Warsaw. This year, Legia hosted young players from Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as Anderlecht RSC, Feyenoord Rotterdam and Juventus FC.
12 teams from 10 countries participated in the tournament. Every team played with each other in the league structure. Legia Cup is the competiton for the children at the age of 10. The winner of the tournament was Anderlecht. In the 11 games the young players of the Belgian club won eight times and lost only to Juventus. The Legionaries had two teams in the competition, Legia I was 10th and Legia II was 12th in the cup.
Awards for the best teams were presented by Dariusz Mioduski, president and owner of Legia Warsaw, Radoslaw Mozyrko, manager of the Legia Warsaw Academy. There was also Legia's first team manager Romeo Jozak on the tournament.
Legia Cup is a valuable experience not only for young players, but also for trainers who have the opportunity to look at the training methods of trainers from other European academies. The representatives of each of the clubs participating in the tournament underline that both the football and organization level is at the highest standards.
