Changes in the coaching staff and sports department
"I met with Jacek this morning and thanked him for everything he did for Legia, not only as the first team manager, but also through all those years he spent in the Club. It was a very tough conversation for me, as I like and respect Jacek very much. He is and forever will be a part of the Club. I hope he returns some day. We will never forget the beautiful moments in the UEFA Champions League and the championship of Poland that his team won. However, the Club today needs big changes, which will help us reach our goal this season, that is to win the championship again, and - first and foremost - build a long-term quality in the Club, which will be the foundation of permanent development and sports success that meet our ambitions and expectations. This is why we had to make difficult, but thoughtful decisions," said Dariusz Mioduski, President of the Legia Warsaw Management Board.
On the further changes, Dariusz Mioduski added:
"I would like to thank everyone for the work they did for Legia, and the part they played in our success. Michał Żewłakow especially was one the Club's phillars in the last years, first as a player, then as head scout, and finally as sports director. I value his knowledge and skills, and I like him very much as a person. I believe he will continue his career and remain a friend of Legia. The Club owe him a lot".
The information about new first team manager will be published later today.
