Jacek Magiera was presented on Saturday as the new manager of Legia Warsaw’s first team. The trainer has signed with the Club a two-year contract with an option to extend it by a year.

Jacek Magiera is an ex-Legia Warsaw player. He made his appearances for the club at Łazienkowska from 1997-2006, winning the Polish Championship twice. Magiera played with the “L” resting on his chest for 232 games and scored 19 times in those games.

After he retired from his career as a footballer in 2006, Magiera started working as a trainer and spent the next eight years of his life as an assistant manager at Legia Warsaw next to: Jacek Zieliński, Jan Urban, Stefan Białas and Maciej Skorża.

In 2014, Magiera become a trainer for the Militarians reserve team, and during the summer of 2016 took up position in the first league team, Zagłębie Sosnowiec. After nine games in the league, his team found themselves on top of the league, undefeated.

- I’m a very happy that I have returned home after my short spell away. The whole time Legia was in my heart. I knew, that I will return here and I did everything to make it so. I left a year ago, I took over at Zagłębie Sosnowiec, and the only club that I could’ve left for, was Legia Warsaw. I hope that we will start something new, so that we will be glad to meet here – said manager Magiera after his announcement on Saturday.

To our new manager, we wish you the best of luck!
