Legia Warsaw defeated Zagłębie Lubin 2:1 in the LOTTO Ekstraklasa matchday 7 thanks to second-half goals from Armando Sadiku and Sebastian Szymański.

After a defeat in the qualification of UEFA Europa League against Sheriff Tiraspol, Legionaries had to win today. The atmosphere around the team wasn't good and eventually victory could help break through the crisis. In the first half both teams created some scoring opportunities, but eventually it ended goalless.

In the second half Armando Sadiku scored after counterattack, which helped Legia to control the game. Six minutes later, Sebastian Szymański increased the score to 2:0, confirming his good fomr in recent months. At the end of the match Zagłębie scored from penalty, but fortunately Legia won that match.

It was our third consecutive win, which helped the team get to the 3rd position in the league table. After two week international break, Legia will play against Śląsk Wrocław, away, on Saturday. Semptember 9, 6pm CET.
