Legia 6-0 IFK Mariehamn
Legia's coach Jacek Magiera set up an experimental team in this match. There were several young players in the first eleven. In the sixth minute Brazilian Guilherme opened the game, beating IFK's goalkeaper with a beautiful shot from 16 minutes. At that moment everything became clear about our promotion to the next round.
Rest of the game was a demonstration of the Legionnariers' good form. The footballers played with fantasy and commitment. Next goals was the consequence of our offensive game. 18-year-old Sebastian Szymanski played a very good game. Youngster scored and assisted in one of the goals at first half. Difference between Legia and finnish team was huge. Such a high win fully reflected the image of the game.
What's also worth mentioning is Michał Kucharczyk's fantastic display against Mariehamn. "Kuchy" hadn't played for two months due to injury and knee surgery, and that was his first game after convalesence. He couldn't have imagined his come back better, scoring two goals on Wednesday evening.
In the next qualifying round of UEFA Champions League Legia will take on FK Astana in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, July 25, at 4 PM CET. Second leg will take place one week later in Warsaw.
