Legia Warsaw won 2-0 against Ajax Amsterdam, but this result (3-4 on aggregate) didn't get us promotion to the UEFA Youth League play-offs.

After 4-1 for FC Astana in the first leg, the Legionnaires had to make up a loss by winning in the difference of four goals. Ajax academy is considered  one of the best in Europe so almost nobody expected that young Legia's player will get a positive result in the Netherlands.

The legionnaries started attacking from the first minutes. This offensive tactic quickly brought the effect. Mateusz Żyro scored after in the 14th minute after good cross from Sebastian Szymański. Polish national U21 team player was the best on the pitch. He gave an assist to Piotr Cichocki in the second half.

The youngsters created some chances in the last thirty minutes but unfortunately we didn't score. This result means that Legia will not play in the UEFA Youth League play-offs. Despite the lack of promotion, the Legionnaries deserve respect and congratulations.
