Vamara Sanogo signs for Legia!
During his professional career, the 21-year-old striker has played for FC Metz, Fleetwood Town and Nuneaton Town FC. Last summer, he joined Polish 2nd-tier side Zagłębie Sosnowiec, for which he scored five goals and provided five assists in 15 games.
"I'm very, very happy. Signing a contract with such a big club is an important step in my career," Sanogo said moments after putting pen to paper on a 4,5-year deal.
The player was supposed to play for Zagłębie in the spring, but there has been a change of plans. Sanogo had a medical in Legia the result of which was positive, he could play for Zagłębie (and he, in fact, appeared in the test game against Polonia Bytom last Saturday), but after studying the results of his medical the doctors decided that he needed a prophylactic knee joint surgery. Had this step not been taken, the player could suffer a major injury in the future. Sanogo feels the same way and that's why he's going to move to Warsaw and undergo rehabilition here. He will definitely be ready to start trainings with Legia in the summer.
