A former Polish champion and one of the best goalkeepers in the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa in recent years, 26-year-old Vladan Kovacević has been loaned to Legia Warsaw until the end of the 2024/25 season from Sporting CP.

Vladan Kovacević is a Polish champion, winner of the Polish Cup and two-times Super Cup winner. He spent three years in Poland playing in the colors of Rakov Częstochowa. During that time, throughout 84 games, he's kept a clean sheet 37 times (44%), recording a very low average of 0.89 goals lost per game.

His good performance on Polish pitches resulted in last summer's transfer to the champion of Portugal and UEFA Champions League competitor, Sporting CP, in whose colors he played 10 matches.

"I'm really happy that I ended up at a club like Legia. From the first contact with coach Goncalo Feio I knew I wanted to play here and I made the decision right away. For me, it's a pleasure. Like every fan and person who works here, I want Legia to win the championship, but we are going step by step. We are playing on three fronts. Tomorrow is my first day and the first impressions. I can't wait to get out on the pitch and help the team,” says Vladan Kovacevic.

"We have acquired an award-winning goalkeeper who knows Ekstraklasa very well and has been a leading player in his position for several seasons, and was brought in by a high-profile European club. The team of people who worked on the transfer carried out the process very efficiently and we finalized the talks quickly. We appreciate the fact that Vladan was very keen to move to Legia and fight with us for trophies. We are confident that he will become an important part of the team,” says Legia Warsaw's managing vice-president Marcin Herra.

The player came to Poland from FK Sarajevo with which he won the country's championship twice and was voted the best goalkeeper of the competition. He is an alumni of FK Željezničar Banja Luka.

Kovacević was a youth representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was also called-up to the country's senior team, and in 2023 decided to represent Serbia.
