Oświadczenie Legii Warszawa ws. wydarzeń po meczu z AZ Alkmaar

Zdarzenia, które miały miejsce po zakończeniu meczu AZ Alkmaar – Legia Warszawa, nie powinny wydarzyć się w cywilizowanym świecie.

 

Bezpieczeństwo drużyn uczestniczących w rozgrywkach, a w szczególności zespołu gości, jest fundamentem funkcjonowania całej piłkarskiej rodziny. Podczas gdy zdarzały się przypadki ataków dokonywanych przez kibiców na drużyny, zawodników, rodziny i bliskich piłkarzy czy fanów gości, to bez precedensu w historii światowego futbolu pozostaje sytuacja, w której drużyna przyjezdna zostaje zaatakowana przez pracowników klubu gospodarza i policję. W mediach społecznościowych opublikowano kilkanaście filmów z tego wydarzenia, z których jasno wynika, kto był agresorem, kto prowokował, kto zachowywał się w sposób skandaliczny. Dla zdecydowanej większości postronnych obserwatorów jest to oczywiste.

 

Zgodnie z regulacjami UEFA to klub gospodarza odpowiada za porządek i bezpieczeństwo na terenie stadionu przed, w trakcie oraz po meczu. Obowiązkiem gospodarza jest współpraca z policją w celu zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa piłkarzom, przedstawicielom delegacji klubowej oraz kibicom przyjezdnym. O faktach nie powinniśmy dyskutować, jednak strona holenderska w swoim oświadczeniu zdaje się je podważać, dlatego podjęliśmy decyzję o wydaniu niniejszego oświadczenia.

 

Jest kwestią ewidentną, że narracja zawarta w oświadczeniu strony holenderskiej, do którego się odnosimy, ma jeden cel. Prawda ma zostać pomieszana z fałszem. To na Legię Warszawa ma zostać przerzucona wina za brak profesjonalizmu przy rozgrywaniu spotkania w ramach rozgrywek UEFA. Dlatego jeszcze raz przedstawiamy fakty dotyczące tego, co działo się w mieście oraz na stadionie:

 

Służby porządkowe Klubu AZ oraz policja nie zapewniły bezpieczeństwa piłkarzom i pracownikom Legii oraz jej prezesowi. Osoby, które miały dbać o bezpieczeństwo, same zaatakowały i naruszyły nietykalność cielesną wielu przedstawicieli naszego klubu.

 

Bezpodstawne zatrzymanie miało miejsce godzinę po meczu, gdy nie dopuszczono części naszych zawodników do autokaru, z powodu rzekomego zagrożenia spowodowanego obecnością kibiców Legii przy klubowym autokarze. W tamtym momencie naszych fanów nie było już w okolicy stadionu.

W trakcie przygotowań do meczu po decyzji pani Burmistrz Alkmaar - komunikowanej publicznie - o braku zgody na przyjazd naszych kibiców do Alkmaar, klub AZ zwrócił się z prośbą, aby punkt odbioru biletów dla naszych fanów był zlokalizowany w oddalonej o 85 km Hadze. Była to trudna do zrozumienia i niespotykana propozycja, niemniej nasz klub - wykazując dobrą wolę - dostosował się ostatecznie do takiej decyzji, z czego skorzystało kilkuset naszych kibiców.

 

Chcąc rozładować napięcie wygenerowane przez stronę holenderską wyszliśmy ze zdroworozsądkową propozycją utworzenia drugiego punktu odbioru biletów, lecz nie spotkało się to z przychylnością gospodarzy.

 

Decyzje podjęte przez miasto Alkmaar oraz holenderską policję w sposób jawny dyskryminowały naszych pracowników, piłkarzy oraz kibiców ze względu na ich przynależność narodowościową oraz język, którymi się komunikowali. Uważamy, że dla takich działań nie ma miejsca w europejskich rozgrywkach pod egidą UEFA.

 

Sytuacja, do której doszło przy wejściu na mecz, tj. wyrywanie kibicom worków z flagami, co spowodowało reakcję obronną osób nimi się opiekujących, była kulminacją festiwalu wrogości i niechęci okazywanej przez stronę holenderską wobec społeczności Legii Warszawa.

 

Według naszych informacji w trakcie i po meczu żaden kibic Legii nie został zatrzymany przez służby porządkowe czy też policję holenderską. Jedynymi zatrzymanymi po meczu - pod kuriozalnymi pretekstami i z pogwałceniem wszelkich zasad praworządnego państwa oraz organizacji meczów UEFA - byli dwaj piłkarze Legii. Podczas meczu nie miały miejsca żadne niewłaściwe zachowania naszych fanów, nie zostały odpalone żadne środki pirotechniczne. Warto wskazać, że w nocy przed meczem to pod hotelem naszych zawodników doszło do odpalenia rac, co zakłóciło regenerację i odpoczynek przedmeczowy. Z całą pewnością nie byli to nasi kibice.

 

Zawarte w oświadczeniu miasta Alkmaar, policji i klubu AZ informacje o badaniu „możliwych kroków zmierzających do wykluczenia rywali o takim profilu ryzyka z europejskich pucharów” traktujemy jako kolejną prowokację. Wzywamy do zaprzestania narażania dobrego imienia Legii Warszawa.

Zdajemy sobie sprawę, jak ważne są kwestie bezpieczeństwa, ale wiemy też równocześnie, że to nie pierwsze tego typu zdarzenie na holenderskich stadionach w ostatnim czasie, w tym na stadionie i w mieście Alkmaar. Przedstawiciele Legii Warszawa są w kontakcie z klubami, które miały podobne doświadczenia. Podczas meczu z West Ham United, w sezonie 2022/23, kibice z Londynu - w tym rodziny piłkarzy i przedstawiciele klubu - zostali zaatakowani przez kibiców gospodarzy na sektorze VIP.  Podobnie szokujące doświadczenia miał klub Hammarby IF, który przy okazji meczu z Twente Enschede rozgrywanego w lipcu tego roku spotkał się z analogicznym „Zamknięciem miasta dla Szwedów”.

 

Klub AZ Alkmaar oraz holenderskie władze mogą w sposób wybiórczy „usprawiedliwiać” sytuację czymkolwiek chcą. Mogą przywoływać jako pretekst święto swojego miasta, manipulować oskarżeniami czyniącymi z poszkodowanych napastników, ale jesteśmy przekonani, że fakty i prawda zwyciężą.

Jako Legia Warszawa zapewniamy, że dołożymy wszelkich starań w celu wyjaśnienia tej sprawy do końca. Będziemy zgodnie z prawdą i faktami bronić dobrego imienia Klubu, jego zawodników i pracowników oraz jak najbardziej szczegółowo wyjaśniać zaistniałą sytuację, która w żadnych rozgrywkach sportowych nie powinna mieć miejsca.

Statement by Legia Warsaw on the events following the match against AZ Alkmaar

 

The events that took place after the AZ Alkmaar - Legia Warszawa match should have no place in a civilised world.

 

The safety of participating teams, and the visiting team in particular, is fundamental to the functioning of the entire football family. While there have been incidents of attacks by fans on teams, players, families and loved ones of footballers or of visiting fans, it remains unprecedented in the history of world football for a visiting team to be attacked by staff of the host club and the police. More than a dozen videos of the incident have been published on social media from which it is clear who was the aggressor, who provoked, who behaved in an outrageous manner. For the vast majority of bystanders, this is obvious.

 

According to UEFA regulations, it is the host club that is responsible for order and security in the stadium area before, during and after the match. It is the host club's responsibility to cooperate with the police to ensure the safety of players, club delegation representatives and visiting supporters. Facts should not be debated, but the Dutch side in its statement seems to dispute them, which is why we have decided to issue this statement.

 

It is a matter of record, that the narrative contained in the statement of the Dutch side to which we refer has a single purpose. The truth is to be mixed up with falsehood. It is Legia Warsaw that is to be blamed for the lack of professionalism in playing the match in the UEFA competition. That is why we are once again presenting the facts about what was happening in the city and at the stadium:

The AZ Club's security services and the police failed to ensure the safety of Legia's players and staff and its president. The people who were supposed to take care of security themselves attacked and violated the bodily integrity of many representatives of our club.

 

The unjustified detention took place an hour after the match, when some of our players were not allowed on the coach, due to an alleged threat caused by the presence of Legia fans at the club coach. At that point our fans were no longer around the stadium.

 

In the run-up to the match, following the decision of the Mayor of Alkmaar - communicated publicly - not to allow our fans to come to Alkmaar, the AZ club requested that the ticket collection point for our fans be located in The Hague, 85 km away. This was a difficult to understand and unprecedented proposal, nevertheless our club - showing goodwill - finally complied with such a decision, which benefited several hundred of our fans.

 

In order to defuse the tension generated by the Dutch side we came up with a common sense proposal to set up a second ticket collection point, but this did not meet with favour from the hosts.

 

The decisions taken by the City of Alkmaar and the Dutch police have blatantly discriminated against our employees, players and fans on the basis of their nationality and the language they used to communicate. We believe that such actions have no place in European competition under the aegis of UEFA.

The situation that occurred at the entrance to the match, i.e. the snatching of bags with flags from fans, which caused a defensive reaction from those looking after them, was the culmination of a festival of hostility and resentment shown by the Dutch side towards the Legia Warsaw community.

 

According to our information, during and after the match, no Legia fans were detained by law enforcement or the Dutch police. The only ones detained after the match - under bizarre pretexts and in violation of all rules of the rule of law and the organisation of UEFA matches - were two Legia footballers. No inappropriate behaviour of our fans took place during the match, no pyrotechnics were set off. It is worth pointing out that the night before the match it was near our players' hotel that flares were set off, which disrupted the regeneration and pre-match rest. It was certainly not our supporters.

 

We regard the information in the statement by the City of Alkmaar, the police and the AZ club about investigating "possible steps to exclude rivals with this risk profile from European cups" as another provocation. We call for an end to the violation of Legia Warsaw's good name and reputation.

We are aware of the importance of safety and security issues, but we also know at the same time that this is not the first such incident in Dutch stadiums in recent times, including the stadium and the city of Alkmaar. Legia Warsaw representatives are in contact with clubs that have had similar experiences. During a match against West Ham United, in 2022/23, London fans - including players' families and club representatives - were attacked by home fans in the VIP sector.  The Hammarby IF club had a similarly shocking experience, which was met with a similar 'shutting down the city for the Swedes' on the occasion of the match against Twente Enschede played in July this year.

 

The AZ Alkmaar club and the Dutch authorities can selectively 'justify' the situation with whatever they want. They can cite the celebration of their city as a pretext, manipulate accusations making the aggrieved attackers, but we are convinced that facts and truth will prevail.

 

As Legia Warsaw, we assure you that we will make every effort to clarify this matter to the end.   We will, in accordance with the truth and facts, defend the good name of the Club, its players and employees and explain in as much detail as possible the situation that has arisen, which should not take place in any sports competition.

Verklaring van Legia Warschau over de gebeurtenissen na de wedstrijd tegen AZ Alkmaar

 

De gebeurtenissen die zich hebben voorgedaan na de wedstrijd AZ Alkmaar - Legia Warschau mogen in een beschaafde wereld geen plaats hebben.

 

De veiligheid van de deelnemende teams, met name het gastteam, is de basis van het functioneren van de hele voetbalfamilie. Terwijl de geschiedenis gevallen kent van aanvallen door fans op teams, spelers, families en nauw betrokkenen of fans van uitwedstrijden, blijft de situatie waarin het gastteam wordt aangevallen door medewerkers van de gastheer en de politie ongekend in de geschiedenis van het wereldvoetbal. Op sociale media zijn tientallen video's van dit incident te vinden, wie de agressor was, wie provoceerde en wie zich schandalig gedroeg, is duidelijk, maar niet voor de Nederlandse zijde.

 

Volgens de UEFA-regels is de thuisspelende club verantwoordelijk voor de orde en veiligheid in het stadion voor, tijdens en na de wedstrijd. De verplichting van de gastheer is om samen te werken met de politie om de veiligheid van de spelers, vertegenwoordigers van de clubdelegatie en meegereisde fans te waarborgen. Over de feiten hoeven we niet te discussiëren, maar de Nederlandse zijde lijkt ze in hun verklaring in twijfel te trekken, vandaar dat we hebben besloten deze verklaring af te geven.

Naar onze mening is het overduidelijk dat het verhaal in de verklaring van de Nederlandse zijde één doel heeft: de waarheid vermengen met leugens. Legia Warschau wordt de schuld gegeven voor het gebrek aan professionaliteit bij de organisatie van UEFA-competities.

 

We presenteren de feiten opnieuw en geen meningen over wat er in de stad en in het stadion is gebeurd:

Een uur na de wedstrijd onstond een schandalige situatie in het stadion. De ordediensten van AZ en de politie zorgden niet voor de veiligheid van de spelers en medewerkers van Legia, evenals hun voorzitter. Degenen die verantwoordelijk waren voor de veiligheid vielen zelf veel vertegenwoordigers van onze club aan en schonden hun fysieke integriteit.

 

De ongegronde arrestatie van onze vertegenwoordigers vond een uur na de wedstrijd plaats, toen een deel van onze spelers niet in de teambus werd toegelaten, vermoedelijk vanwege een vermeende dreiging door Legia-fans bij de spelersbus. Op dat moment waren er echter geen Legia-fans in de buurt van het stadion.

 

Tijdens de voorbereidingen op de wedstrijd, na de publiekelijk aangekondigde beslissing van de burgemeester van Alkmaar om onze fans de toegang tot Alkmaar te ontzeggen, verzocht de AZ-club om het ophalen van tickets voor onze fans in Den Haag, op 85 km afstand. Dit was een moeilijk te begrijpen en ongebruikelijk verzoek, maar onze club stemde uiteindelijk in met deze beslissing, waar honderden van onze fans van profiteerden.

 

In een poging de spanningen te verminderen, stelden we redelijkerwijs voor om een tweede punt voor het ophalen van tickets op te zetten, maar dit voorstel werd niet positief ontvangen.

 

De beslissingen van de stad Alkmaar en de Nederlandse politie discrimineerden blijkbaar onze medewerkers, spelers en fans op basis van hun nationaliteit en de taal die ze gebruikten. We zijn van mening dat dergelijke acties geen plaats hebben in Europese competities onder auspiciën van de UEFA.

De situatie bij het betreden van de wedstrijd, waarbij fans hun vlaggen werden afgenomen en wat leidde tot verdedigingsreacties van degenen die voor hen zorgden, was onder andere het gevolg van de agressieve houding van de ordediensten tegenover degenen die vlaggen en trommels meenamen, en was slechts het hoogtepunt van een festival van vijandigheid en afkeer dat door de Nederlandse zijde jegens de Legia Warschau-gemeenschap werd getoond.

 

Volgens onze informatie werd tijdens en na de wedstrijd geen enkele Legia-fan door de ordediensten of de Nederlandse politie gearresteerd. De enigen die na de wedstrijd onder bizarre voorwendselen en met schending van alle principes van de rechtsstaat en de organisatie van UEFA-evenementen werden gearresteerd, waren twee Legia-spelers. Tijdens de wedstrijd waren er geen ongepast gedrag van onze fans, er werden geen pyrotechnische middelen ontstoken. Het is vermeldenswaard dat in de nacht voor de wedstrijd vuurwerk werd afgestoken voor het hotel van onze spelers, wat de regeneratie en rust voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd verstoorde. Deze incidenten waren zeker niet het werk van onze fans.

 

De informatie in de verklaring van de stad Alkmaar, de politie en de AZ-club over het onderzoek naar "mogelijke stappen om rivalen van dit risicoprofiel uit Europese bekers te sluiten" beschouwen we als verdere provocatie. We eisen dat er een einde komt aan de schending van de goede naam van Legia Warschau.

 

Dit is niet het eerste incident van deze aard. We zijn ons bewust van het belang van veiligheidskwesties, maar we weten ook dat dit niet het eerste incident van deze aard was in Nederlandse stadions de afgelopen tijd, inclusief het stadion en de stad Alkmaar. Vertegenwoordigers van Legia Warschau staan in contact met clubs die vergelijkbare ervaringen hebben gehad. Tijdens de wedstrijd tegen West Ham United in het seizoen 2022/23 werden fans uit Londen, inclusief spelersfamilies en clubvertegenwoordigers, aangevallen door de thuissupporters op de VIP-tribune. De Hammarby IF-club had vergelijkbare schokkende ervaringen tijdens een wedstrijd tegen Twente Enschede in juli van dit jaar, waarbij een soortgelijke "afsluiting van de stad voor Zweden" plaatsvond.

 

De AZ Alkmaar-club en de Nederlandse autoriteiten kunnen de situatie selectief "rechtvaardigen" zoals ze willen. Ze kunnen hun stadsfeest als voorwendsel gebruiken en beschuldigingen gebruiken om van de slachtoffers daders te maken, maar we zijn ervan overtuigd dat feiten en waarheid zullen zegevieren.

Als Legia Warschau verzekeren we dat we er alles aan zullen doen om deze zaak volledig op te helderen. We zullen de eer van de club, zijn spelers en medewerkers verdedigen op basis van feiten en zo gedetailleerd mogelijk de situatie ophelderen, die in geen enkele sportcompetitie zou mogen plaatsvinden.
