"That is why today, in the face of one of the biggest civilization challenges in modern history, we have decided that as a club we will transform into an assistance organization. In cooperation with our partners, we have prepared an aid program to which we invite everyone who feels responsibility for intergenerational solidarity and those who can get involved in helping seniors and ultimately providing relief for the health care system.

"Let's join forces and together create the largest and most comprehensive aid program addressing the elderly, the most excluded, and exposed to the greatest danger during the pandemic.

"Let's show that we are #READYTOHELP."

    - Dariusz Mioduski, Chairman of the Board Legia Warszawa

"On a daily basis, we are primarily a sports club that brings together hundreds of companies, institutions, and a community of thousands of Legia Warsaw supporters, connected by a passion for football, sport, competition and victory. In the face of this pandemic, Legia cannot carry out its normal activities. However, Legia has never been just a sports club. Social responsibility is part of our mission that we implement through the Legia Foundation.

     How do we help?

    • We finance and deliver meals for seniors, both to individuals and to Nursing Homes, in and around Warsaw.
    • We run a free helpline for seniors enabling them to get direct help in shopping for necessities (food, sanitary, medical).
    • We create organized volunteering that provides direct help for seniors by delivering meals and shopping.
    • We offer volunteer time by providing a phone call to chat.
    • We offer technical support through a free hotline to get help associated with telecommunications, the Internet and computers.

    Where do we start?

Thanks to the support of the first aid program donors - T-Mobile, Scouting Association of Poland, Innogy Go and TM Flota:

    • We are ready to finance and deliver 10 000 meals for seniors at the start of the campaign.
    • We have over 500 volunteers from ZHR - Scouting Association of the Republic, our employees, Legia Warsaw friends and supporters.

    Why are we doing this?

    • In the face of months of the fight against the virus, seniors are people for whom infection is a serious threat to life. At the same time, it is a social group that is often in the most difficult situation, not only socially but also financially.
    • The duty of the largest Warsaw community centered around Legia Warsaw, which is a symbol of multi-generational tradition and passion, is to help this group.
    • #READYTOHELP program is a response to the development of the pandemic situation in Poland and the regulations that have crippled economic and social life with sweeping changes to existing habits and behaviors. With the reduction of quarantine restrictions, the risk for those most exposed to the tragic effects of infection, i.e. the elderly, increases.
    • The COVID-19 virus outbreak will not pass quickly. We will live with it for many months, and the tragic experiences of countries that are at a more advanced stage in terms of the scale of morbidity and mortality show that the healthcare system is under extreme pressure during this time. Therefore, the program's aim is to limit the number of infected seniors, which will relieve the medical facilities and staff. By helping seniors, we not only protect their health and life, but through preventive measures, we support the medical care system and medical staff.

    Volunteering

    • At the start of the program, volunteering consists of over 500 adults, including members of ZHR - Scouting Association of the Republic (strategic partner of the program), volunteers of the Legia Foundation as well as employees and associates of the club.
    • Volunteering will be constantly developed based on the Legia Warsaw community to build an extensive, efficiently managed, and effective aid organization.
    • As part of the program, Legia invites all existing or emerging voluntary organizations to cooperate in order to make the most of all social and partners' support.
    • We provide all volunteers with the opportunity to participa- te in a project unique on a Polish and European scale, which will allow them not only to be part of a great support campaign but also to gain important experience and demonstrate their skills.
    • Volunteers will be provided with adequate training, safety equipment against infection risk, and appropriate opera- ting procedures approved by the Ministry of Health.

    Become a partner or donor

Thanks to the involvement of our partners and friends, such as T-Mobile, and Innogy Go, as well as social organizations such as ZHR - Scouting Association of the Republic, we have created the foundation for the largest and most comprehensive aid program in the modern history of Warsaw. Already at the start, we have funds and an organization that can finance and provide assistance through several hundred volunteers that reach all districts and the surrounding areas of Warsaw.

Thanks to the support of the largest Polish independent communication group, Group One, information about the campaign, its purpose, and partners will be distributed throughout Warsaw and across various media. We will use the full potential of Legia Warsaw, the leading sports media brand in Poland, to talk about the action and its partners, as well as take advantage of all synergies that will arise from the cooperation of our partners.

    • Legia Warsaw invites all companies and institutions that are ready to support seniors with the material, finan- cial, service or information assistance to co-create, cooperate, and support the program. The program model based on the Legia Foundation and ZHR, i.e. reliable and well-organized aid structures, guarantees that the support provided will be effective and efficient.
    • The program will be conducted under the auspices of the Warsaw City Hall and in cooperation with the Mazowieckie Province.

Why is it worth contributing to the #READYTOHELP program?

Legia Warsaw initiated the #READYTOHELP program with the objective that it will be co-created by everyone who wants to help seniors during the pandemic. This applies to individuals who want to volunteer, as well as companies and institutions.

We are aware that everyone is affected by the effects of the pandemic, but despite the difficulties, we are convinced that it is time to show solidarity and intergenerational responsibility.

As the leading sports media brand in Poland, Legia Warsaw, with its own promotional and production resources in the field of communication and marketing, and channels to reach a community of several million, our entire non-sport activities are focused on supporting the program, helping seniors and implementing an information campaign. Club media and the communication team will join the volunteer team and will provide daily information on the progress of the program and the involvement of its partners.

    • The main legia.com website and the gotowidopomocy.pl foundation website will be devoted to the program.
    • All channels on Legia Warsaw social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) will be used to promote the campaign and its partners. The direct access across these channels totals 2 million people.
    • Legia Warsaw will carry out a broad information campaign about the program using external media.
    • The most recognizable people associated with Legia Warsaw, players, staff members, club management as well as his friends and partners are involved in the promotion of the program.

    How can you help?

    • Direct material support: handing over food, sanitary, hygienic and medical products to the needs of seniors or preparing fresh meals.
    • Financial support for the implementation of the program, including the purchase of food and meals for the most deprived seniors, the purchase of protection measures for volunteers, ongoing operational functioning of the program and its volunteers.
    • Substantive support by providing access to knowledge and information for seniors within the hotline (possibility of redirection to own call centers).
    • Joining #READYTOHELP volunteer.
    • Incorporation of own aid programs and campaigns into the platform, increasing their range and impact.

We are open to all other forms of support, help, and commitment.

The goal of the program is to create the largest and most effective aid campaign targeted at seniors during the pandemic. Therefore, as Legia Warsaw, we invite everyone who already conducts similar activities on a smaller or larger scale, both as companies, social organizations, and grassroots initiatives. By joining forces, we will reach more effectively those in need with information and help, and at the same time, by using the communication potential of Legia Warsaw and its partners, we will provide much greater and lasting benefits for everyone involved in this program.
